Why Medicaid Matters to All of Us

Organized by UMKC’s Consortium for Aging in Community, experts – including the Alliance’s Sheldon Weisgrau – will share information on current Medicaid policies and discuss the leading proposals for reform of these programs. Medicaid is the single largest payer of nursing home care and home and community based services for older Americans and people with disabilities. Medicaid and reform proposals will be discussed, including budget cuts, block grants, and changes to eligibility standards.

The goals are to promote an informed citizenry and provide a public forum for questions and discussion.

The event is free but registration is required at this site: http://www.umkcalumni.com/MedicareMedicaid
